Our Doctors
Randy Kelly, Optometrist
Dr. Kelly received his Bachelor of Science degree from North Dakota State University and earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Oregon where he graduated with high honors. His clinical training was at the VA hospital in Spokane, Washington, Eye Care Associates in Fargo, ND and Pacific University Clinics.
Practicing since 2003, Dr. Kelly is currently the managing partner of Blaine Family Eye Care. He truly enjoys working in private practice where he can focus on patient education, quality eye care and tailoring his care for each individual’s need. He specializes in comprehensive eye care, as well as diagnosing and managing ocular disease. In addition, he has extensive experience working with fitting contact lenses, and addressing eye health and vision concerns.
Dr. Kelly is committed to providing the highest quality of full scope vision care for you and your family. He continuously strives to stay current in the latest information and technology.
When not practicing optometry, Dr. Kelly enjoys traveling, cooking, fishing, weekend trips to the cabin and most of all spending quality time with his family. Dr. Kelly lives with his wife, Kate, and their German Short-haired Pointer, June.
Rodney Binfet, Optometrist
Dr. Binfet received his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Minnesota (Morris) and earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree from The Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He did his externship training at the VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tennessee. He was also fortunate to spend a few months providing eye care for Inuit Villages in Nome, Alaska.
Practicing since 2000, Dr. Binfet is currently the managing partner at Blaine Family Eye Care. He strongly believes that maintaining the health of your eyes with preventative care plays an important role in an individual’s overall health. He specializes in comprehensive eye examinations, treating dry or red eyes, fitting a variety of contact lenses, diagnosing and managing ocular disease and co-managing cataract and laser eye surgeries. Dr. Binfet has a special interest in nutrition and the role diet plays in maintaining healthy eyes.
Outside of the office, Dr. Binfet enjoys traveling, biking, cross-country skiing (Birkie fever is common in February!), fishing, weekends at the family cabin, and most of all, spending time with his wife Sarah and their 3 children; Evelyn, Jacob and Samuel.

Dan, Optician ABOC
Dan earned a BA in English from Gustavus Adolphus College and a BS in Secondary Education from St. Cloud State. He spent his formative years in New Brighton (Irondale HS), taught high school in Arizona, and roamed the countryside protecting America’s food supply before realizing his vision: helping people see. When he is not engaged with the ever-evolving technological wonders of modern ophthalmic optics, he enjoys reading, golfing, playing guitar/drums, and living the dream with his beautiful wife and animal family.
Meghan, Optician
Meghan, a native of Faribault, Minnesota, is an eight year veteran of the optometric industry. She has always taken great pride in providing great customer service and–using her keen eye for fashion, design, and the latest optical trends–matching faces with frames. When she isn’t assisting others in enhancing their vision, Meghan enjoys painting, drawing, live music, and spending time with her family. She looks forward to welcoming a little girl to her world in November!
Alex, Optician
Alex grew up in the Twin Cities and studied Art Education at Bethel University. She worked in client services in corporate before becoming an Optician. She has a passion for design, art, and helping patients find the best glasses to fit their lifestyle. She loves to stay current on the latest industry trends and share them with her patients. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, boyfriend and their Golden Retriever; Joe.
